After the Germans had been sent home, Kees Vijverberg went to rent the nursery of the Groenewegen family in Naaldwijk. In those days the choice for a gardener’s son was simple: you became a pastor or a gardener. There were no other options. Initially, it was a fruit and vegetable nursery! Here he could put into practice the trade he had learned from his father, as horticulturist C.J.F. Vijverberg.
